Oh my gosh people, be nice to your waiter/waitress, it’s not their fault that your food is cold or if it’s under cooked.  Be nice to the cashiers who are still training and can’t ring up your items as quickly as you want.  If a stranger smiles and says hello to you, smile and say hello back!  It’s just common courtesy, I don’t understand why people have to be so rude.

One night President Obama and his wife Michelle decided to do something out of routine and go for a casual dinner at a restaurant that wasn’t too luxurious. When they were seated, the owner of the restaurant asked the President’s Secret Service if he could please speak to the First Lady in private. They obliged and Michelle had a conversation with the owner. Following this conversation President Obama asked Michelle, “Why was he so interested in talking to you?” She mentioned that in her teenage years, he had been madly in love with her. President Obama then said, “So if you had married him, you would now be the owner of this lovely restaurant,” to which Michelle responded, “No. If I had married him, he would now be the President.”

ONE-EYED DOG REUNITED WITH WOMAN WHO SAVED HIM - “As soon as he spotted his former foster mother Eva Armstrong, Captain Morgan scrambled over and jumped into his rescuer’s arms.”
A Dachshund named Captain Morgan was in a high kill shelter in Alabama living in bad conditions. In addition, he suffered from heartworm and only had one good eye. An organization called Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue arranged for Captain Morgan to be rescued. A woman named Eva Armstrong took Captain Morgan in and cared for him. Fortunately, he was adopted by a family in New York. Recently, Armstrong and Captain Morgan had the opportunity to see each other again. Here’s more from the New York Daily News:

Captain Morgan was kept on a cold concrete floor with no heat or hot water. During bath time, the one-eyed dachshund was sprayed with frigid water from a hose. The pound had limited resources, so Cappy’s heartworm was not properly treated, Armstrong said.***
On the same day that Cappy was rescued, the organization managed to pull around 30 other dogs.“We really want people to understand the urgency here,” Cross told the News. “You either take the dog or the dog gets killed the next day. There’s no other option.”
In New York, Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue hosts adoption events that help place these dogs in loving homes.
Cappy stayed with Armstrong for one month while receiving treatment for his heartworm. He slept in her bed, watched TV with her and walked around Prospect Park getting accustomed to a normal puppy life.

The look on Captain Morgan’s face says it all. Click here for the full story and here for more about Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue. Also, click here to learn about Eva’s Play Pups which is run by Armstrong. (Photo via Hilary Benas)
